David Ethan Ziga
David Ziga is a geologist from Miami University with a background in mineralogy. Destined from a long running interest in specimen collecting, he founded Ziga Mineral LLC during his sophomore year there.
With a thirst for travel and modern mineral finds, ZM quickly became focused on sourcing, acquiring minerals directly from their home countries.
Today, David and his international team run specimen mining operations and travel around the globe to directly source earths most remarkable contemporary treasure.
Origins and MMNH
My passion for collecting began at an early age, starting with pinecones and stones during walks to preschool. As I grew, my childhood collection expanded to include fossils, insects, bones, shells, and minerals, leading me to create the Mini Museum of History (MMNH) in my bookcase. I even charged admission to family and friends who came to visit and explore my "museum." At around nine years old, after discovering stunning crystals in a rock shop, I decided to focus solely on minerals, dreaming of one day handling exceptional specimens and building a collection of world-class gems.
After graduating high school, I studied under Dr. John Rakovan, one of the world's leading mineralogists, at Miami University in Ohio. Alongside my research in mineralogy, I earned degrees in geology and museum studies. It was during my time at university that I founded Ziga Mineral Company, as minerals became my ultimate collectible.
Today, my international team and I manage specimen-mining operations and travel the world to directly source the Earth’s most remarkable natural treasures.
